South Florida Women’s Soccer’s Sister Duo Selected To USASA Region III Pool
Upon helping the Florida Women’s Amateur Team to a second-place finish in last weekend’s USASA Region III State Select Team Tournament, University of South Florida soccer’s Jenny and Mindy Mulvihill have been selected to the south region pool and now await word on a possible trip to the U.S. Soccer Festival, July 27-Aug. 2, in Houston.
If chosen to represent the South Region (III) Team, the sisters would have a chance to not only compete against the USASA’s three other region teams and against national teams of various ages from around the world, but would also be eligible for a spot in the highly coveted U-23 national pool.
“It’s a great honor to be selected (to the pool) and would be a great opportunity for the two of them to grow as players,” said Bulls head coach Logan Fleck.
“Any chance that they can get to play against tougher competition will be advantageous for them as players and for us as a team.”
A final South Region Team roster will most likely be set sometime in early July.
