Two UAB Women's Soccer Players Selected To Attend U.S. Soccer Festival

Junior defender Suzanna LaMotte and junior midfielder Jenny Rynders have been selected to the South Region team, announced UAB head coach Paul Harbin. The two Blazers will play in the U.S. Soccer Festival which features four region teams from around the nation, as well as the U.S. National under-17 and the Mexican National under-19 teams.

"Having two more of our players selected to play in the U.S. Soccer Festival is a wonderful honor," said Harbin. It is great to see Suzanna and Jenny being recognized as two of the top players in the South Region. I know that they will represent UAB well."

The South Region team, which consists of 16 players, is one of just four region teams from around the nation that will compete at the U.S. Soccer Festival July 26 through August 2 in Houston, Texas. The National Team coaching staff, along with coaches from the Region teams, will then select it's U.S. National "B" Team from the pool of players.

Among the former UAB women's players who have been honored with the selection are Vanessa Woodward, Melissa Sherrell and Jill Knottek. This is the second South Region Team selection for Rynders. Woodward and Sherrell were both later selected to represent the U.S. National "B" Team.
