UCF junior forward Yvonne George and UTEP freshman goalkeeper Chandra Morden-Bednar were named the C-USA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. for matches through Sept. 1. George was credited with the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over No. 19 Florida, then assisted on a game-winner against Hartford for her third career honor. UTEP's rookie keeper posted a pair of shutouts to help the Miners improve to 3-0-0, their best start since 2005.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

George started all three matches for the Knights last week, as they went 2-1-0 with two of those matches against teams ranked in the Top 20. George scored the game-winner in a 1-0 road win at No. 19 Florida Friday. The junior scored in the 84th minute on a one-on-one with the keeper. Two days later, George set up the game-winner against Hartford as Becca Thomas scored with five minutes left for a 1-0 win over the Hawks in UCF's home opener. This is her third career C-USA Player of the Week honor.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Freshman, GK, Winnipeg, Manitoba

Morden-Bednar recorded consecutive shutouts to help lead UTEP to a 3-0-0 start and the 11th-Annual Miners Classic title over the weekend. She made six saves, including four stops in a 1-0 win against Texas State on Friday. Against the Bobcats, two of the stops were of the point-blank variety, while another was made while using perfect technique to punch a shot over the net. For an encore, she registered two saves while flying off her line twice to secure potentially dangerous through balls in a 1-0 victory against Louisiana-Lafayette. At 3-0-0, the Miners are off to their best start since 2005.
