Conference USA teams kicked off the holiday weekend with an 8-3-1 record. Seven teams posted wins tonight, while Colorado College shutout Wyoming, 3-0, on Thursday night. UAB extended its win streak to three games against Western Carolina. East Carolina, UCF and UTEP all picked up key road wins. Marshall earned its first victory of the season, defeating Radford, 1-0, in the first round of the Best Western Huntington Mall Invitational. SMU and Tulsa also won home matches against Saint Louis and Murray State, respectively.

C-USA WOMEN'S SOCCER SHOOTING STARS
• UCF sophomore Tishia Jewell (Satellite Beach, Fla.) scored her first career goal in double OT to lift the Knights to a 1-0 victory against intrastate rival USF. UCF was playing its first match against USF (3-1-0) in Tampa since 2003. Senior Jaclyn Meade (Sarasota, Fla.) made her collegiate debut as the C-USA Preseason Defensive Player of the Year Aline Reis (Campinas, Brazil) was out due to an injury suffered during practice this past week.
• UAB extended its win streak to three matches with a 3-2 victory over Western Carolina. Senior MF Allison Belsterling (Montgomery, Ala.) scored a pair of goals, while reigning C-USA Offensive Player of the Week, junior F Laura McCalla (Fayetteville, Ga.) chipped in her team-leading fifth goal of the season.
• Marshall's Erin Blakely (Westerville,Ohio) tallied her first goal of the season and handed the Herd its first win of the season with a 1-0 victory against Radford in the opening day of the Best Western Huntington Mall Invitational.
• East Carolina sophomore F Chrissy Gratz (Sunrise, Fla.) netted her second game-winning goal of the season with less than two minutes to play, lifting ECU to a 3-2 win over host Old Dominion. With the win, the Pirates extended their current winning streak against the Monarch to three games. Juniors Amanda Malkiewicz (Forked River, N.J. and Jessica Woodward (Wake Forest, N.C.) extended their starting streaks to 45 games and Malkiewicz netted her 11th career goal.
• UTEP sophomore Brittany Kindzierski (Edmonton, Alberta) scored twice, including the golden goal seven minutes into the first extra period, to help lead the UTEP soccer team to a thrilling 2-1 overtime triumph at in-state foe Stephen F. Austin Friday evening.
• Tulsa sophomore F Rebecca Handley (St. Louis, Mo.) headed in the game-winning goal in the 98th minute to give the Golden Hurricane a 2-1 overtime victory over Murray State as TU moved to 4-1 on the season. Freshman F Claire Nicholson (Overland Park, Kan.) earned her fifth goal of the season at the 55:33 mark as she punched in a cross from Kelsey Killion (Broken Arrow, Okla.).
• SMU freshmen Amanda Burgardt (Arlington, Texas) and Shelby Redman (Austin, Texas) each scored their first career goals en route to the Mustangs' 2-1 victory over visiting Saint Louis.
• Memphis junior MF Julia Ignacio (Edmonton, Alberta) scored the equalizer in the 47th minute for No. 15 Memphis, but the Tigers dropped a 2-1 decision to host No. 20 Oklahoma State.
• Colorado College sophomore F Brittney Lyman (Arvada, Colo.) struck for the game winner just 2:07 into the contest as the visiting Tigers roared to a 3-0 non-conference victory over Wyoming. Lyman finished with a pair of goals that gave her eight in her last six outings dating back to last season. Sophomore Hannah Peterson (Denver, Colo.) also scored while freshman MF Madison Whitehead (Highland Village, Texas) was credited with two assists for CC.
• Houston freshman MF Nichole Duarte (League City, Texas) and Courtney Peacock (Calgary, Alberta) both scored as the Cougars played TCU to a 2-2 tie.
