A pair of freshmen earn Conference USA Player of the Week honors for matches through Sept. 7. Houston forward Jessica Zavalza was named the Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals in a 2-0 win over Louisiana-Lafayette to give the Cougars a third-straight victory. UCF keeper Aline Reis collected 15 saves over the weekend, including 10 in a 1-0 shutout of Pacific.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Zavalza made a resounding return to the Cougar lineup on Friday, scoring a pair of goals in Houston's 2-0 non-conference win over Louisiana Lafayette. Her goal in the sixth minute was her second game-winner in her last two games. Zavalza now leads the club with three goals and six points just three games into her collegiate career.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Aline Reis, UCF
Freshman, GK, Campinas, Brazil
Reis notched her third-straight shutout when the Knights blanked Pacific, 1-0, in California on Friday. The freshman amassed a season-high 10 saves against the Tigers. Staying in the Golden State, Reis collected five saves while playing 110:00 minutes in a 2-2 tie at UC Davis Sept. 7. Reis had a stretch of 366:30 where she did not allow a goal, and now has a 3-1-1 goalkeeping record with 30 saves on the year, which ranks first in Conference USA.
