Conference USA women’s soccer began league competition over the weekend when DePaul hosted Marquette on Sunday and posted a 3-0 victory against the Golden Eagles. DePaul had a nice warm-up to the weekend with a 6-1 non-conference win against Northern Iowa.

Saint Louis also played host over the weekend to the annual Toys For Tots Tournament. The Billikens defeated Army, 1-0, on Friday and shut out Mississippi, 3-0, on Sunday to take the title. Junior Kelly Ferguson was named the Tournament MVP.

Houston improved its win streak to three matches with big wins over Texas Southern, 14-1, and Prairie View A&M, 7-0.

Southern Miss and UAB were idle this week as matches we postponed due to Hurricane Ivan. Southern Miss will come off an 11-day break to play at South Alabama on Tuesday, Sept. 21. The Blazers will also play on Tuesday night, facing Alabama in a match that was postponed from Friday.
