UCF sophomore forward Courtney Whidden and Colorado College junior goalkeeper Geneva Sills were recognized as the Conference USA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for their performances the week ending Sept. 23. It is the first weekly conference honor for both during their careers.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Courtney Whidden, UCF
Sophomore, Forward, Palm Harbor, Fla.

Whidden scored two clutch goals in two matches this week, including the game-tying goal with just 2.8 seconds on the clock to tie intrastate rival Miami on Thursday. The sophomore also scored on Saturday as the Knights battled No. 11 Florida State to a 3-3 draw on Saturday. Whidden tallied her seventh goal of the season to pull UCF to within one (3-2) against FSU. She ranks among the top three in Conference USA for points (17) and goals (7). This is Whidden's first weekly award but the third for UCF as teammates Yvonne George and Kelsey Kravec have also been recognized this season.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Geneva Sills, Colorado College
Junior, Goalkeeper, Evanston, Ill.

Sills tallied 11 saves as Colorado College battled host No. 16 Oklahoma State to a scoreless draw on Friday. It was her third shutout of the season and 16th of her career. Sills then had six more stops, including five in the second half, in Sunday's come-from-behind 2-1 victory at Ole Miss. This is the first weekly honor for Sills.
