Rice junior midfielder Shelley Wong and sophomore goalkeeper Meghan Erkel, as well as Colorado College sophomore forward Tiffany Brown, were named Conference USA Women's Soccer Players of the Week for matches through Oct. 5.

Brown scored a pair of unassisted goals to lead Colorado College to a 2-1 win against defending C-USA champion Memphis Sunday. It marked the second two-goal game in Brown's young career. It was also the second game-winner for Brown this season and she has factored in on five game-winning goals total. This is Brown's first C-USA Player of the Week honor.
Shelley Wong, Rice
Junior, MF, Virginia Beach, Va.
Wong scored both Rice goals in a 2-1 double overtime victory against Tulsa on Sunday to earn her second Player of the Week honor in a row. Wong nailed the game-winner with just 57 seconds remaining in the second overtime period. This is the third time this season Wong has registered a two-goal game.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Meghan Erkel, Rice
Sophomore, GK, Granite Bay, Calif.
Erkel made 10 saves in more than 199 minutes worth of work to help the Owls go 2-0-0 for the weekend and move into second place in the C-USA standings. Erkel registered an .833 save percentage in starts against SMU and Tulsa. This is Erkel's second Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.
