UCF and East Carolina both jumped one spot in the Soccer Buzz Southeast Region rankings, while Colorado College, Memphis and Rice each climbed a spot in the Central Region rankings. East Carolina maintains its top spot in the conference standings with a 3-0-1 record, playing its first four league contest all on the road. The Pirates return home to host Tulsa and SMU this weekend, while Memphis welcomes Rice on Sunday for a key match that will be televised by CBS College Sports Network on tape delay next Tuesday, Oct. 14.

CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Tiffany Brown, Colorado College
Sophomore, F, Sterling, Va.

Brown scored a pair of unassisted goals to lead Colorado College to a 2-1 win against defending C-USA champion Memphis Sunday. It marked the second two-goal game in Brown's young career. It was also the second game-winner for Brown this season and she has factored in on five game-winning goals total. This is Brown's first C-USA Player of the Week honor.

Shelley Wong, Rice
Junior, MF, Virginia Beach, Va.

Wong scored both Rice goals in a 2-1 double overtime victory against Tulsa on Sunday to earn her second Player of the Week honor in a row. Wong nailed the game-winner with just 57 seconds remaining in the second overtime period. This is the third time this season Wong has registered a two-goal game.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Meghan Erkel, Rice
Sophomore, GK, Granite Bay, Calif.

Erkel made 10 saves in more than 199 minutes worth of work to help the Owls go 2-0-0 for the weekend and move into second place in the C-USA standings. Erkel registered an .833 save percentage in starts against SMU and Tulsa. This is Erkel's second Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.

FOUR C-USA TEAMS LAND IN TOP 50 OF FIRST NCAA RPI REPORT
The NCAA released the first Women's Soccer Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) of 2008 on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Four teams - UCF (No. 26), Rice (37), Colorado College (38) and East Carolina (46) all ranked in the Top 50, while Memphis (81) and SMU (92) make sure half the conference is listed among the Top 100 out of 318 teams. UCF and Memphis both earned a trip to the 2007 NCAA Championship and finished the season ranked No. 20 and 34, respectively, in the RPI.

COACHING MILESTONES
As Conference USA teams continue their winning ways, our coaches are adding to their respective career victory totals. Rice head coach Chris Huston and UTEP head coach Kevin Cross both earned their 100th career win over the weekend. In her eighth season since starting the program in 2001, Huston has compiled a 101-75-12 record as the Owls' only head coach and she spent two seasons as the head coach at the University of Houston. Cross also has 100 wins (100-47-6) since taking the program reigns in 2001, compiling seven straight winning seasons. Colorado College's victory over Memphis on Sunday marked Geoff Bennett's 50th as head coach at CC. Bennett is now 50-28-10 overall (.625) with the Tigers, and has guided his team to a sparkling 32-5-5 mark (.821) at home the last five seasons combined.

C-USA WOMEN'S SOCCER ON CBS COLLEGE SPORTS NETWORK
CBS College Sports Network is once again showcasing Conference USA Women's Soccer to a national audience, including a live telecast of the 2008 C-USA Championship on Nov. 9. Two exciting one-goal matches have already been aired on Sept. 21 and Sept. 28. This Sunday's Rice at Memphis match will also be shown on tape delay on Tue., Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. EDT

SHOOTING STARS
East Carolina junior Alexis Foltz scored her third goal in conference play for the Pirates in a 1-1 tie against UCF Sunday. ECU is currently in sole possession of first place in the C-USA standings.

The Knights tied the match with 1:01 left when Yvonne George found Lauren Halbert inside the 18' and put the ball past the keeper from 11 yards out for overtime.

UCF set a season-high with 24 shots against Marshall Oct. 3, then followed that up with 28 shots against East Carolina. The 28 shots were the most in a game since Oct. 21, 2007. In all, UCF posted 52 shots during the weekend.

Colorado College (6-0-1), UCF (4-0-2) and Marshall (0-0-2) are still undefeated at home this season.

Tulsa battled to double overtime in both contests this weekend, tying Houston, 0-0, and falling to Rice, 2-1. This was TU's third double-overtime game of the season, as the Golden Hurricane tied Oral Roberts, 2-2.

Tulsa's Jennifer Kacergis tied up Sunday's game with Rice, 1-1, as she scored off a long dribble off the left side in the 78th minute to force the overtime.

Marshall junior transfer Rebecca Voss scored her first goal of the season and the first of the match in the Thundering Herd's 4-0 win at Southern Miss.

Voss scored in the 10th minute as she rebounded off an Angela DeSumma corner kick. DeSumma, the nation's 13th-ranked assists leader, now has eight assists so far this season.

Marshall's Missy Gordon, Erin Blakely and Ali Lizotte also added goals for the Herd.

Southern Miss freshman GK Hannah Vanderboegh saw her first career minutes in the Marshall match. She allowed one goal and recorded five saves in the second half.

Sophomore F Tiffany Brown scored a pair of unassisted goals, one in each half, to lead Colorado College to a 2-1 victory over Memphis.

Memphis senior D Emiko Schwab scored her first goal of 2008 on a free kick in the 37th minute of the first half.

SMU freshmen Logan May and Devon Herrman scored for the Mustangs, and freshman GK Courtney Webb picked up her second career victory in a 2-1 road victory over Houston.

Houston sophomore Islara Rodriguez scored her first goal of the season on a breakaway for the Cougars' lone goal of the game.

Miners Jo Radcliffe and Chelsea Winbush each scored a goal in UTEP's 2-1 victory over UAB on Sunday.

UAB freshman Carolyn Polcari scored the lone goal for the Blazers in the 56th minute of the contest.
