C-USA Announces Oct. 15 Women's Soccer Players of the Week

Through Oct. 14, UAB has won four straight matches, and Marquette maintained a share of the Conference USA lead with shutouts over Charlotte and East Carolina. As a result, the Blazers and Golden Eagles have the Oct. 15 C-USA Players of the Week.
OFFENSIVE: Denise Peters, UAB

UAB’s Denise Peters is the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 14. Peters had one goal and one assist as the Blazers upended TCU and Houston last weekend. Her goal against TCU occurred with 57 seconds left, forcing the match into overtime. She had a UAB season-high six shots on goal.
DEFENSIVE: Ashleigh Koenig, Marquette

Marquette’s ASHLEIGH KOENIG is the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 14. Koenig spurred the Golden Eagles to a pair of shutout victories over Charlotte and East Carolina, recording seven saves. Marquette and Charlotte were each undefeated in league play entering the Oct. 12 match. and East Carolina ranked among the league’s top three in goals and points per game.
