Saint Louis recorded two more shutouts over the weekend and extended its win streak to nine straight. The Billikens have a perfect 9-0 record – the best conference mark since Cincinnati ran the table at 10-0 during the 2001 season. Sophomore defender Courtney Hulcer has been a key to the Billikens’ 12 shutouts and she scored two goals in Friday’s match with Southern Miss.
UAB and Marquette also posted a pair of shutouts each to move into second and third place, respectively, in the C-USA standings. The Blazers scored 10 goals over the weekend, while the Golden Eagles are riding a four-game win streak into the final week of the regular season.
East Carolina is also on a four-match win streak with two overtime victories over the weekend. Meghan McCallion scored the golden goal for the Pirates in a 3-2 double overtime win against Louisville. The Cardinals along with ECU have each clinched a spot in the 2004 C-USA Women’s Soccer Tournament.
