Colorado College freshman forward Tiffany Brown and SMU junior goalkeeper Ashley Gunter were named the C-USA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for matches through Oct. 28. Both led their teams to a perfect 2-0 mark over the weekend.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tiffany Brown, Colorado College
Freshman, F, Sterling, Va.

Brown finished the weekend with eight points (3g,2a) to help the Tigers clinch their second consecutive C-USA playoff berth with home-field victories over East Carolina (2-1) and Marshall (7-0). The freshman scored the game-winning goals in both matches, her third and fourth of the season, and added an assist in each. Her first of two tallies against Marshall on Sunday came just 28 seconds into the contest. She also scored on a penalty kick. Brown currently ranks second on the team in goals (8) and points (18) for the season. This is her first C-USA Player of the Week honor.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ashley Gunter, SMU
Junior, GK, Lancaster, Pa.

Gunter registered two shutouts in a pair of 2-0 SMU victories over Rice on Friday and Houston Sunday. The 2006 C-USA Defensive Player of the Year and a preseason Hermann Trophy nominee this year, had seven saves in Friday's win over the Owls, and four against Houston -- including a diving save on a penalty kick that preserved a 1-0 win. The shutouts were Gunter's third and fourth of the season, giving her 22 in her career, tying her with Kim Kyle for third place all-time in SMU history. This is her first Player of the Week honor for the season and second of her career.
