Match Summaries
With Conference USA regular-season slate concluded, the eight-team field for the 2003 C-USA Women's Soccer Tournament has been set. The conference championship will take place Nov. 5-8 at Charlotte's Transamerica Field.
UAB is the top seed after winning the league's regular-season title with a 2-0 win at USF on Friday. TCU secured the No. 2 seed with a 2-1 home victory over Memphis. Marquette, which closed out its conference schedule with a 2-1 win over Saint Louis on Oct. 26, is the No. 3 seed, while the Bulls are the No. 4 seed and the Billikens are the No. 5 seed after posting a 1-0 decision over DePaul at home on Saturday. The Blue Demons are the No. 6 seed and Tulane is No. 7 seed. The Green Wave closed out its regular season with a 3-0 loss at Southern Miss on Friday. Rounding out the field of eight are the tournament host 49ers, which defeated East Carolina, 1-0, to secure the final berth in the league championship on Friday.
Wednesday's action gets underway at noon with DePaul facing Marquette followed by Tulane taking on TCU at 2:30 p.m. The evening session opens with Saint Louis battling USF at 5:00 p.m., and concludes at 7:30 p.m., when Charlotte faces UAB.
