IRVING, Texas - Conference USA regular season co-champions Memphis and UCF earned berths to the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship, which begins this weekend with first-round matches on Friday to be followed by second-round action on Sunday at various host sites throughout the country.

Memphis (17-3-1) won the C-USA tournament championship title Sunday with a 2-0 victory against top-seeded UCF. With the win, the Tigers claimed their first championship and first trip to the NCAA Championship. Memphis will face UNC Greensboro in opening-round action on Friday at in Chapel Hill, N.C. With a victory, Memphis would play the winner of host and No. 1 seed North Carolina and High Point.

UCF (14-4-3) is making its 12th NCAA Championship appearance, which includes a 1982 trip to the national championship match. The Knights were undefeated at home (7-0-3) this season and claimed the top seed in the C-USA Championship for the second time in three years. UCF will square off with Auburn in the first round on Friday in Gainesville, Fla., with the winner meeting the winner of host Florida and Miami. UCF and Miami played to a 2-2 tie during the regular season.

Conference USA has sent at least two teams to the NCAA Championship five times in the last seven seasons.

The 26th annual NCAA Division I Women's College Cup will be played Dec. 7 and 9 at Texas A&M's Aggie Soccer Stadium in College Station, Texas. Match times for the first and second rounds will be announced later this week.
