After leading her team to seven straight victories, including five Conference USA wins, Houston's Kristen Glowacz has been named as C-USA's Softball Hitter of the Week. Louisville's Aja Sherman, who threw the league's first no-hitter of the season on Sunday, shares Pitcher of the Week honors with DePaul's Lindsay Chouinard, whose 3-1 week was highlighted by a victory over No. 1 DePaul.
HITTER OF THE WEEK
KRISTEN GLOWACZ, HOUSTON
Sophomore, 3B, Katy, Texas
Glowacz led the Cougars to a 7-0 week, which included five Conference USA victories, by batting .550 (11-for-20). She hit three doubles, two home runs and drove in four runs. Glowacz scored four times and added four walks, reaching base at least once in six of the seven games.
CO-PITCHERS OF THE WEEK
AJA SHERMAN, LOUISVILLE
Sophomore, RHP, Las Vegas, Nev.
Sherman threw her first career no-hitter in the Cardinals 8-0 win over Ohio University on Saturday, striking out six and walking just one. Earlier in the week, she struck out seven and walked none without allowing an earned run in a 5-1 win at Morehead State.
LINDSAY CHOUINARD, DE PAUL
Senior, LHP, Fresno, Calif.
Chouinard was named to the All-Tournament team at the Hedrick’s Hallowell Chevrolet Classic after posting three wins and a save. Highlighting her wins was a shutout over No. 1 UCLA. In 23 innings pitched on the week, Chouinard struck out 21, while walking one and allowing just two earned runs.
