DePaul's Chouinard Named USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Week

CHICAGO – The Amateur Softball Association, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, announced that Lindsay Chouinard has been picked as USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Week for the week of March 10 through March 16.
Chouinard’’s amazing efforts at the Kia Klassic in Fullerton, California earned her the honors. She and the Blue Demons won their pool after beating out national powers Fresno State, No. 3 Nebraska, and Notre Dame.
Against Fresno State, Chouinard hit a home run in the seventh inning to win the game 3-2. In the Blue Demons' game against Notre Dame, she hit a three-run homer and a double to put the slaughter rule into affect, beating the Fighting Irish 11-2.
In three games, Chouinard hit 5-for-10 and hit two home runs and a double. She scored four runs and collected an outstanding nine RBIs.
Chouinard was also a force on the mound at the tournament. She pitched three wins, including the seven innings against No. 3 Nebraska where she struck out eight Huskers. In fourteen innings, she retired 10 batters and walked no one while allowing just two earned runs.
Chouinard was also named Conference USA Co-Hitter of the Week. This is the third time Chouinard has earned player of the week honors in her conference. Earlier this season, she twice earned C-USA Pitcher of the Week.
