April 11 Softball Players of the Week

Louisville extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 4-0 week, while Houston snapped an eight-game losing streak by winning five straight. The Cardinals shutout all four of their opponents thanks primarly to the right arm of senior Aja Sherman, who went 2-0 with 29 strikeouts in 22 innings of work. Sherman picked up her third-consecutive Pitcher of the Week award and fourth of season, while Houston used the offensive prowess of senior Kristen Glowacz to snap the program's longest losing streak. The Cougars' third baseman went 7-for-8 (.875) in a weekend series against Saint Louis and 9-for-13 on the week to garner her third weekly award of the season.

Hitter of the Week
Kristen Glowacz

Glowacz collected her third C-USA Hitter of the Week honor after batting .875 (7-for-8) in a three-game sweep of Saint Louis and .692 (9-for-13) during a 5-0 week for the Cougars. The senior tied a single-game C-USA record with four hits in game two of the series with the Billikens. Glowacz clubbed three home runs on the week to give her a C-USA record 44 for her career. She also added six RBI to bring her total to 40 for the season.

Pitcher of the Week
Aja Sherman, LOU
Sr., RHP, Las Vegas, Nev.
For the third consecutive week, Sherman dominated her competition to earn the league’s weekly pitching honor for the fourth time this season. The senior did not allow an earned run in three appearances to extend her scoreless inning streak to 33 overall. Sherman tossed two shutouts in a series sweep of Charlotte and added eight scoreless innings in a 1-0 nine-inning victory over Indiana. She fanned 14 Hoosiers, just one off her career high, and finished the week with 29 punchouts.
