IRVING, Texas - Marshall All-American Rachel Folden is the Conference USA Softball Hitter of the Week for the second consecutive week after going 5-for-9 with three home runs, 11 RBI and six runs scored as Marshall went 3-2 last week with a series win over UAB. Folden shares the weekly award with Houston's Jennifer Klinkert who went 6-for-9 with two home runs, six RBI, and seven runs scored in Houston's 5-0 week. The Cougars' Angel Shamblin is the Pitcher of the Week allowing no runs and just four hits in five appearances last week. Shamblin recorded three wins and two saves and pitched 20.2 innings while racking up 24 strikeouts.

CO-HITTER OF THE WEEK (4/14)
Rachel Folden - Marshall

Folden had another solid week at the plate and finished with a .556 batting average after going 5-for-9 with four of those five hits being for extra bases. Three of the five hits were home runs, while the fourth was her first career triple. After leading off with a homer in game one against UAB, Folden drew seven walks during the rest of the three-game series to help Marshall claim the series, 2-1. Her three homers increased her season total to 13, her career overall total to 54 and her C-USA playing career total to 45. The 45 career C-USA home runs are third all-time in league history. Against non-conference foe Ohio, Folden smashed a homer in both games and also was walked four times in the doubleheader split. She had an on-base percentage of .800 with a slugging percentage of 1.778 in her four RBI week. She was able to score six times in the Herd's five games. This is the sixth career weekly honor for the All-American and her third in 2008 (Feb. 11, Mar. 7).

CO-HITTER OF THE WEEK (4/14)
JENNIFER KLINKERT - Houston
1B, Fr., Chino, Calif. (Chino Hills)

Klinkert added two more home runs to her season total against UTSA and East Carolina last week. She now has 11 on the season, which is good for second on the team and is tied for fourth in UH single season annals. The freshman went 6-or-9 (.667) during UH's 5-0 week with an .813 on-base percentage. She helped the Cougar offense outscore its oppo¬nents 37-5 on the week and led UH to its fourth C-USA series sweep this season. The weekly award is the second of Klinkert's career (Feb 18).

PITCHER OF THE WEEK (4/14)
ANGEL SHAMBLIN - Houston
P, Sr., Davie, Fla. (Hollywood Christian)

Shamblin allowed no runs and just four hits in five appearances last week for Houston as she collected three wins and two saves. The senior pitched 20.2 innings and racked up 24 strikeouts to just two walks. The Davie, Fla., native held her opponents to a .060 batting average last week. The wins moved her record to 22-2 in the circle this season and she has a miniscule 0.56 ERA. With her 24 strikeouts, she now has 192 on the season which is the second-most strikeouts in UH single-season history. Shamblin also hit .429 (3-for-7) at the plate last week to help her team to its fourth series sweep this season. This is Shamblin's 14th career weekly honor and her fifth in 2008 (Feb. 18, Mar. 10, Mar. 17, Mar. 31).
