C-USA Softball Players of the Week

UAB's Cliffanie Engram and Southern Miss' Channika Gant shared Hitter of the Week honors, while Saint Louis' Nicole Bohnenstiehl was named Pitcher of the Week for the period ending April 14.


CO-HITTERS OF THE WEEK
CLIFFANIE ENGRAM, UAB
Junior, OF, Pelham, Ala.
Engram helped lead UAB to a three-game sweep of South Florida this past weekend, batting .455 (6-for-17) for the series. She went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs scored and a double in UAB’s 8-0 victory over the Bulls. For the week., she posted two doubles, five RBI and four runs scored.

CHANNIKA GANT, SOUTHERN MISS
Senior, SS, Vicksburg, Miss.
Gant batted .538 (7-for-13) for the week, including a 6-for-11 performance in the three-game series against East Carolina. She scored the winning run in the first game against the Pirates, and notched the game-winning RBI in games two and three. She posted two doubles, one triple, five RBI and three runs scored for the week. She also currently holds a five-game hitting streak.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
NICOLE BOHNENSTIEHL, SAINT LOUIS
Junior, RHP, Lebanon, Ill.
Bohnenstiel went a perfect 4-0 last week with four complete games and two C-USA shutouts. She allowed only two runs and seven walks in 28 innings of work for a 0.50 ERA, while striking out 37 batters. She currently leads the conference with 141 strikeouts on the season.
