April 18 Softball Players of the Week

Kate Manuse

Both East Carolina and DePaul were represented in this week's Conference USA awards as the Pirates and Blue Demons each earned sweeps of league opponents. DePaul extended its winning streak to 10 consecutive victories following a sweep of league foe Saint Louis. ECU took sole possession of second place in C-USA standings after sweeping Louisville over the weekend.

Co-Hitters of the Week

Kate Manuse, East Carolina
Sr, IF, Chantilly, Va./Chantilly
Manuse went 4-for-5 at the plate and drew five intentional walks in a series sweep of Louisville. The senior belted two home runs, added a double, and drove in four runs as the Pirates took sole possession of second place in Conference USA standings. Manuse's double was her league leading 18th of the season.

Dana Kenney, DePaul
Sr, OF, Orange, Calif./Rosary HS
Kenny went 9-for-11 at the plate in the Blue Demons sweep of Saint Louis, which extended their winning streak in league play to 10 games. In Saturday's doubleheader, the senior was a perfect 7-for-7 at the plate with two doubles, a triple and three RBI. For the week, Kenny batted .524 in six games.

Pitcher of the Week

Megan Huitink, DePaul
So., LHP, Elk Grove Village, Ill./University of Illinois
Huitink won four of DePaul's six games last week, posting a perfect 4-0 record with a 0.52 ERA. The sophomore three-hit Saint Louis in Sunday's series finale to extended the Blue Demons winning streak in C-USA contests to 10.
