C-USA Softball Weekly Honors

Charlotte's Leah Heston earns C-USA Hitter of the EWeek accolades, while Houston's Jamie Falco was named Pitcher of the Week.

HITTER OF THE WEEK
LEAH HESTON, CHARLOTTE
Senior, 3B, Ankeny, Iowa
Heston helped the 49ers earn their first conference sweep in school history last weekend, batting .556 (5-for-9) in the East Carolina series. In Saturday’s doubleheader, she cracked a pair of home runs and drove in six runs. She also broke the 49er’s single-season RBI record, tallying 44 for the year. For the week, she went 9-for-17 (.529), posted two home runs, one double, 11 RBI and six runs scored.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
JAMIE FALCO, HOUSTON
Sophomore, RHP, Tomball, Texas
Falco threw a no-hitter against Saint Louis, striking out 12 batters and giving up only two walks. In addition to her first career no-hitter, she also earned a save after pitching 1.2 innings in a 7-1 win over the Billikens on Sunday. She allowed only two runs and six walks in 14.4 innings of work, while striking out 18 batters for the series.
