April 28 Softball Players of the Week

Heather Bell

Southern Miss swept the weekly honors as Heather Bell was named C-USA Hitter of the Week and Jessica Holaway earned Pitcher of the Week accolades. Bell batted .667, while Holaway did not surrender a run to to lead the Golden Eagles to a 4-0 weekly performance.





HITTER OF THE WEEK
HEATHER BELL, SOUTHERN MISS
Junior, OF, Castaic, Calif
Bell batted .667 (6-for-9), leading Southern Miss to a 4-0 weekly performance, including a three-game sweep over East Carolina. She hit 5-for-7 against East Carolina, notching a .714 batting average, with two home runs and four RBI. Bell smashed her fifth home run of the season in game three against ECU to finish the game 2-for-3. She has also hit safely in five of the last six games.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
JESSICA HOLAWAY, Southern Miss
Junior, RHP, Baker, La
In 13 innings pitched, Holaway did not surrender a run last week, collecting three wins and two shutouts. She finished the week, striking out 12 batters and giving up only three walks. Holaway has surrendered only one run in her last 20.2 innings pitched. She currently leads the Golden Eagles with a 2.01 ERA.
