DePaul's Chouinard One Of Ten Finalists For Player of the Year

The Amateur Softball Association announced the top 10 finalists for the 2003 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award. DePaul’s top pitcher, Lindsay Chouinard is one of the finalists among the nation’s cream of the crop.

Chouinard has an ERA of .44, the second best in the nation. Her record of 26-4 puts her at ninth in the nation for total wins. She’s pitched 14 shutouts and tallied 180 strikeouts in 204.2 innings pitched.

The 10 finalists represent seven colleges, and five conferences. Six of them are pitchers.

Alicia Hollowell - Arizona
Lovieanne Jung - Arizona
Jessica van der Linden - Florida State
Iyhia McMichael - Mississippi State
Tairia Mims - UCLA
Cat Osterman - Texas
Natasha Watley - UCLA

The top three finalists will be announced May 13 and the winner will be honored May 21 at the opening ceremonies of the NCAA College World Series in Oklahoma City.
