MINNEAPOLIS -No. 2-seeded DePaul shutout No. 1 Arizona, 6-0, in game 11 of the NCAA Region II Softball Championship.

Both teams were scoreless, until DePaul scored on a walk in the top of the
fourth inning. Bases were loaded when Arizona's pitcher Jennie Finch walked Gina Ramacci, advancing Liz Bouck to home plate. Ashley Parker advanced to third base on a throwing error, bringing her home, followed by Christina
Douglas. It was all DePaul in the fourth inning when Sarah Douglas doubled to left center allowing Laura Visin to score an unearned run, giving the Blue Demons the 4-0 advantage.

DePaul scored again in the top of the fifth when Shavaughne Desecki doubled
to right field, powering Dana Kenney to home plate.

Wildcat Jenny Gladding relieved Finch at the mound in the top of the sixth.
Saskia Roberson flied out to centerfield sending April Valdez from third to
home and the Blue Demons to 6-0.

DePaul's Lindsay Chouinard got the victory, as the Blue Demons are 50-10 on
the season.

The last time the Wildcats were shutout was March 16, 2002 against Arizona
State, 3-0.

Arizona is 51-11 overall after losing its first game of the double
elimination tournament. Since both teams have one loss, a 12th and final
game has to be played to determine who will go on to the Women's College
World Series.
