Houston freshman Natasha Burgess has been named Conference USA Diver of the Week after improving her NCAA-qualifying scores during a dual meet with No. 6 Texas A&M Feb. 3. SMU freshman Rachel Nicol won the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events with top-five C-USA times during a dual meet against No. 4 Texas and has been named C-USA Swimmer of the Week.
Houston junior diver Julia Lonnegren continued her outstanding season, topping the NCAA Zone Diving standard in each of the three events she competed in during the UH Quad to earn Conference USA Diver of the Week honors. SMU freshman swimmer Isabella Arcila was named C-USA Swimmer of the Week for the first time as she won the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events during the cross-town dual against TCU.
Houston junior diver Julia Lonnegren and SMU sophomore swimmer Nina Rangelova have been named Conference USA Diver and Swimmer of the Week, respectively. Lonnegren swept the diving events during the dual meet against SMU while Rangelova claimed three individual events during the same dual.
SMU swimmer Denisa Smolenova posted two of the nation's best times in the 100- and 200-meter butterfly events at the Austin Grand Prix, posting a 2:11.68 (1:56.01, converted) in the 200 fly and a 1:00.43 (53.00, converted) in the 100 fly and has been named Conference USA Swimmer of the Week. East Carolina Diver Katie Yamamoto has been named Diver of the Week after a pair of first-place showings, including a 267.37 on the one-meter board, during the Pirates' dual meet with Old Dominion.
