IRVING, Texas - SMU's Anja Carman and Christie Icenhower of East Carolina were named this week's C-USA Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively. Carman helped SMU win the SMU Women's Swim Classic, while Icenhower won both diving events in the Pirates' tri-meet. Houston was also in action and improved to 5-0 for the first time in program history.

ECU downed both College of Charleston and Gardiner-Webb in a double dual. Houston won all nine individual events and both relays against Southwestern to improve add to the program's longest winning streak. No. 8 SMU took top honors at the 13th annual SMU Swim Classic. The Mustangs scored 327 points to defeat No. 14 Florida St., No. 13 Wisconsin, Alabama, Virginia Tech, and LSU.

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK (10/24)
ANJA CARMAN - SMU
Jr., Godesic, Slovenia (The Bolles School)

Carman captured three first-place honors this past weekend en route to helping the team capture the SMU Women's Swim Classic title. She edged top-ranked Romy Altmann of Florida St. for first-place in the 100 back with a time of 56.28 and swam the fourth leg of the first-place 800 free relay team that clocked in almost six second faster than the second-place team. The junior took second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:23.32 and added points for the Mustangs in the 500 free as she swam in the consolation finals, taking first in her heat with a time of 4:52.48. Carman turned right around to take gold in the 200 back with a time of 1:59.33. The No. 8 Mustangs scored 327 points to defeat No. 14 Florida St., No. 13 Wisconsin, Alabama, Virginia Tech and LSU.

DIVER OF THE WEEK (10/24)
CHRISTIE ICENHOWER - East Carolina
Jr., Lawrenceville, N.J. (Lawrenceville)

Icenhower placed first on both the one-meter (277.80) and three-meter (258.68) boards in a tri-meet with College of Charleston and Gardner-Webb. The junior also won on both boards in the Pirates' prior dual meet this season.

WEEKLY RELEASE
The Conference USA media relations staff will produce a weekly release each Tuesday throughout the season, including Athlete of the Week selections and updated standings. Complete league statistics will be updated daily throughout the season via the conference web site.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Conference USA will name an Swimmer and Diver of the week throughout the regular season. The Athlete of the Week awards are selected by the C-USA media relations department and announced every Tuesday throughout the season.

OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
(10/17- 10-23)

SASHA SCHWENDENWEIN - Houston
Schwendenwein helped lead the Cougars to a 105-63 win at Southwestern to extend UH's program record winning streak to five straight meets. She won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:32.79 and posted an event-best time of 2:13.83 in the 200-yard IM. Her time in the IM would have won the event by more than 21 seconds, but she swam it as an exhibition. Schwendenwein also swam the third leg of the Cougars' winning 400-yard freestyle relay team.

JACQUELYNN JONES - East Carolina
Jones recorded first place finishes in the 400 IM (4:29.31) and 200 breast (2:23.75). She was also part of the winning 400 medley relay team. Her 400 IM mark was the third fastest time in that event in school history.
