IRVING, Texas - Ashley Watling of Tulsa and Marta Lesniak of SMU earned Conference USA Tennis Players of the Month honors, as announced by the league office Tuesday. Watling registered five wins over ranked opponents throughout the fall season and made a run into the quarterfinals at the D'Novo ITA All-American Championship before losing to eventual champion, John Patrick Smith. Lesniak went 14-4 in the month of October and took her No. 39 ITA singles ranking to advance to the quarterfinal of the ITA Regional.

MALE TENNIS PLAYER OF THE MONTH
ASHLEY WATLING - Tulsa
Sophomore, Ipswich, England (East Bergholt)

Watling went 5-2 in singles over the last month, including a run into the quarterfinals of the D'Novo ITA All-American Championships. The Ipswich, England native went 3-1 in Main Draw singles with wins over 53rd-ranked James Meredith and 78th-ranked Mihai Nichifor. He also advanced to the round of 16 in singles at the Wilson/ITA Central Region Championships, going 2-1 for the tournament.

FEMALE TENNIS PLAYER OF THE MONTH
MARTA LESNIAK - SMU
Sophomore, Wroclaw, Poland

Lesniak went 14-4 overall in the month of October, with a 6-2 mark in singles and an 8-2 record in doubles. Lesniak and teammate Aleks Malyarchikova were ranked No. 13 in doubles and went 3-1 at the All-American Championship before having to withdraw due to injury. Lesniak then teamed up with Pavi Francis to go 5-0 and win the ITA Regional after practicing together for just over a week. The duo earned an automatic bid to the Indoor National Championships after their run. The Wroclaw, Poland native is ranked No. 39 in the ITA singles ranking and advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Regional with wins over three top-64 players.
