IRVING, Texas - Marshall's Kellie Schmitt is the C-USA Women's Tennis Player of the Month. Schmitt's was impressive in both singles and doubles with appearances at the ITA Women's All-American Championships and East Regional Championships. During singles action, Schmitt defeated three nationally-ranked opponents in both singles and doubles.

Schmitt was impressive in both singles and doubles with appearances at the ITA Women's All-American Championships and East Regional Championships. During singles action, Schmitt defeated three nationally-ranked opponents. In doubles play, Schmitt teamed-up with teammate Karolina Soor and also downed three nationally-ranked teams. Schmitt's most impressive performance of October came in the East Regional doubles finals when the pair defeated the No. 1 duo from William and Mary to advance to the program's first-ever appearance in the ITA Indoor Championships. The East Regional Championship finals appearance marked only the second time in Marshall women's tennis history a duo made it to the finals. For the month, the junior went 6-2 in singles and 8-2 in doubles.
