Tulane and Memphis had players selected to C-USA weekly awards to begin the season after both programs claimed tournament titles over the weekend. Tulane returned to play on campus for the first time in a year and captured the Kathy Trosclair Memorial Invitational, while Memphis won the Evansville Aces Invite. Tulane took the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards as Sara Radosevic was awarded for her offensive efforts and Jenn Miller takes C-USA's inaugural defensive honor. Radosevic earned MVP honors in the Trosclair Memorial and Miller was named to the All-Tournament Team. Memphis' Laura Cote was instrumental in helping the Tigers claim the Evansville tournament title and shares the weekly setter award with Kelsey King of Houston.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK (8/28)
SARA RADOSEVIC - Tulane
OH, So., Zegreb, Croatia (Sportska Gimnazija)

Radosevic was named MVP of the Kathy Trosclair Memorial Tournament after averaging 5.18 kills, 2.55 digs and 6.23 points per game, while chipping in with nine service aces and four total blocks. The sophomore hit .261 for the week, including a pair of matches over .300 with marks of .375 and .324 against Lamar and McNeese State, respectively. Also, tallied double-digit kill totals in all three matches, including 31 against UNO, which ranks tied for fifth in Tulane single-match history. Her best match of the weekend came against UNO when she posted a double-double courtesy of 16 digs - which ties her career-high - to go along with four service aces and four total blocks (1 solo, three assists).

CO-SETTERS OF THE WEEK (8/28)
LAURA COTE - Memphis
S, So., Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (Aden Bowman)

Côtè ran Memphis' offense efficiently this weekend, leading the Tigers to a +43 kills advantage en route to the program's first tournament win away from home since 2004. The Tiger sophomore opened the year with by handing out 13.75 assists per game in the opening weekend of action to help lead Memphis to a 3-0 record and the Evansville Aces Invitational title. She highlighted her weekend with a strong all-around performance of 66 assists, eight digs, eight kills and five service aces in a tough five-game win over Austin Peay. Côtè notched her first double-double of the season in the 3-1 title win over Evansville with 55 assists and 10 digs. Côtè hit .340 with 20 kills, 20 digs and 8.0 total blocks.

KELSEY KING - Houston
S, So., San Antonio, Texas (Birmingham Southern)

King fueled the Houston offense with a pair of 50-assist outings against Towson and No. 23 Ohio State where she dueled with OSU's two-time All-America setter Marissa Main. It was the first time that the Birmingham Southern transfer has put together back-to-back 50-assist games in her career. The sophomore concluded the weekend with a bang, igniting the Cougar attack to a .405 attack percentage against Robert Morris. Houston started the afternoon with scorching .440 and .458 percentages in games one and two against the Colonials. The San Antonio native also set the Houston attack to a .444 percentage in a critical game five against Towson. She also added 11 kills at a .360 attack rate in addition to 12 digs.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK (8/28)
JENN MILLER - Tulane
L, Fr., San Pedro, Calif. (San Pedro)

Miller was named to the Kathy Trosclair Memorial All-Tournament Team as she averaged 4.91 digs per game with 54 ups in 11 stanzas. The freshman had double-digit digs in all three matches, including a season-best 28 against UNO (which ranks tied for seventh-best in TU single-match history) -scored eight points for the way with single kills against Lamar and McNeese and had two aces in all three matches over the weekend.
