HOUSTON, Texas - Match two of the 2006 Conference USA Volleyball Championship at Hofheinz Pavilion saw UAB down UCF, 3-1 (30-24, 30-24, 27-30, 30-17) to extend their winning streak to a team and conference season-best 10 games. The win was the first for the Blazers in the C-USA Championship since 1999 when they defeated St. Louis, 3-1.

The Blazers were led by double-double performances from Aleksandra Vujovic and Ivana Bozic. Vujovic notched 11 kills and 17 digs, while Bozic tallied 13 kills and 10 digs. C-USA Newcomer of the Year Fernanda Domingos hammered home a team-high 21 kills and hit .500 for the match and Casey Dent registered 17 kills on a .483 hitting percentage. Two-time Setter of the Week Nevena Stefanov directed the Blazer offense with 59 assists.

Schanell Neiderworder had a team-high 15 kills for the Golden Knights and added 10 digs for the double-double, her seventh on the season. Stephanie Serna also had double-digit kills with 14 and Leah Alexander led her team with 26 assists. Erin Campbell led the Golden Knights defensively with 20 digs in the loss.

UAB head coach Kerry Messersmith was happy her team came away with the victory.

"We were really happy with our twelve service aces," Messersmith said. "We lacked a little bit of intensity for a while, but we got it back and are really happy to get a win and move on."

Fifth-seeded UAB (24-9) advances to face No. 4 Tulane at 2 p.m. on Friday. UCF ends its regular season at 5-24.
